Special Worship Services
We offer special worship services throughout the year that do not fit into our regular worship schedule. The services are designed to celebrate special days in the Christian year or to be of special help to worshipers. Please check the calendar or call the church office to confirm dates and times for these services.Service of Remembrance, Healing and Hope
First Sunday of Advent
Sometimes the Christmas Season can be a difficult one for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one, job or are dealing with other difficult issues. We acknowledge the difficult of having these negative emotions while trying to be joyous during the Holidays. We lift the names of our loved ones or the emotional issue up as we light a candle.
Lessons & Carols
The Sunday before Christmas
Both the 8:30 AM and 10:45 AM Services celebrate this day in their own ways. The Biblical narrative of Jesus’ birth is read. Then a musical reflection of the words is shared by our musical groups and congregation.
Christmas Eve
December 24, 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM
Our 5:00 PM Service is geared for families with young children. The 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM Services offer traditional worship. Communion is provided at 11:00 PM. All services include candle-light singing of Silent Night.
Ash Wednesday
The first day of Lent, 7:00 PM
This service begins the period of reflection called Lent, where we examine ourselves and deepen our understanding of Christ. The imposition of ashes (drawing a cross on worshiper’s foreheads) is included in this service.
Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday)
The Thursday before Easter, 7:00 PM
At this service, the Last Supper is remembered. The United Methodist Church celebrates and open table and offers communion to everyone.
Good Friday (Holy Friday)
The Friday before Easter, 7:00 PM
We celebrate Good Friday in different ways each year. Often we have a Cantata presented by our Chancel Choir or a service of Tenebre, where candles are doused as we remember the last few ours of Jesus’ earthly life.
Easter Sunday
8:00 AM Contemporary Service, 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM Traditional Services
The joy of Easter morning and the experience of the Resurrected Christ is reflected in our worship.
